Time to replace the LTO3 Tapes for something better

I’ve been working on a quick list of pros and cons for each backup
solution. Pricing, backup time, network traffic, hardware, and software are key differences between Avamar and Quantum.

Avamar Best for redoing the entire backup solution or starting from scratch. Client backup software is included, de-dupe on the client side, integration with VMWARE, faster backups, reduced network traffic, higher hardware cost, higher software cost if backing up large amounts of data (several TB) and has a scalability option.

Quantum: Best for adding to existing backup infrastructure, client software is not included, de-dupe is on server end, backup time is limited by speed of network/servers, flexibility, and lower hardware cost.

If your Toshiba laptop has a blinking amber battery light and won’t start, chances are that your battery is dead. The laptop won’t even turn on with the AC power cable connected to it. Looking for the best video card to purchase for the money? Games are starting to push the limits of video cards as more of the cut scenes are rendered by the graphics card. LCD monitors are getting larger and thus require more performance to push the higher screen resolutions.  The game experience in Starcraft II with a Radeon 4850 vs. a nVidia 8600GTS is a dramatic difference. The better card will have near-video quality renderings of the cut scenes at higher screen resolutions.
